PB Vertical LLC was presented with a task to optimize the work of design departments by reducing the time spent and design errors.
Softline specialists analyzed the client's needs and tasks and suggested using Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2014. The package includes both AutoCAD 2014, already well-known to the client, and a new product, BIM-powered Revit 2014. This allowed the design office to make a step-by-step transition to the new solution.
The Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology implies the collection and complex processing of information (technological, design, economic, etc.) about the building with all its interrelationships; thus, the building site and everything related to it is perceived as a whole. Due to this approach, a change in one of the parameters leads to a change in the other associated entities, including visualization, drawings and specifications.
Compared to AutoCAD previously installed at LLC PB Vertical, the new technology provides for the shared use of the information about the construction site at all stages of its life cycle. This ensures the avoidance of errors and the loss of important data in the design process.
The architects of the design office undertook training on the new software and then carried out a pilot project based on the concept of a rapid CAD commissioning developed by Softline's CAD and GIS Department.
Having worked with the new software, the employees of the design office appreciated its advantages and in future the company plans to completely switch over to BIM technology.
“We managed to successfully cope with the task and in future our cooperation with PB Vertical LLC will continue. It is planned to perform the transition of other departments of the company to the new technology," –
Evgeniy Zhukovsky, Project Manager, CAD and GIS Softline Department, Softline
