During the project, Softline specialists deployed and configured the System Center 2016 IT-infrastructure management and monitoring system. The System Center Operations Manager allows for continuous accounting of the organization's hardware and software resources, providing administrators with up-to-date information about the available resources.

Background

Constructora Meco is one of the leading construction companies in Latin America specializing in earthworks, industrial and commercial infrastructure, road and residential construction, hydropower projects, and more. The company operates in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Panama.

The company has a wide network of offices in Latin America; an extensive structure and a growing number of machinery items led to a decrease in the effectiveness of control over compliance with accepted standards of actual configuration parameters, software and hardware composition.  That is why the management was faced with a task to optimize the IT infrastructure management, ensure prompt receipt of up-to-date information on the current state of IT systems, as well as prompt remote assistance on technical support requests. To solve the tasks set before it, the customer selected the Microsoft System Center IT-infrastructure management system. Based on the demonstration of the chosen solution usability in the Constructora Meco's IT infrastructure, Softline, with its extensive experience in implementing infrastructure projects, was selected to deliver the project.

Solution

During the project, Softline specialists deployed and configured the System Center 2016 IT-infrastructure management and monitoring system. The System Center Operations Manager allows for continuous accounting of the organization's hardware and software resources, providing administrators with up-to-date information about the available resources. The functionality of System Center Configuration Manager enabled the central installation of the necessary software on all devices in the company. In addition, the customer's IT specialists were trained to configure and operate the System Center.

Results

“We received an IT infrastructure management tool that allows us not only to control the IT services status, but also to promptly make necessary modifications. We would like to particularly note the capability to provide assistance remotely and at a moment's notice on technical support requests. Another undoubted advantage is the local mobile device management, which makes mobile devices easy to maintain using built-in tools of their operating systems,” said customer representative Diego Piedra, Server and Network Equipment Support Manager.

“The company has a distributed territorial structure, the transition to a single platform helps IT specialists keep track of all software used in the organization and significantly reduce the routine operations for its inventory. System Center Configuration Manager provides a set of automated administration tools for software deployment, which is especially important for a customer who needs to provide all company devices with an in-house specialized industry-specific SAP solution," commented Elena Grechikhina, Project Manager, Department of Services and Technical Support at Softline.
